This tour is a fantastic experience that takes you on a journey crossing rivers and mountains, with lush greenery providing a perfect habitat for a wide variety of birds and animals, making it a nature lover’s paradise.
The 45-minute drive features impressive mountains and ocean views. The hike allows you to take in all the beauty and serenity of the surroundings. Along the way, you will discover a breathtaking waterfall. You will also witness a stunning viewpoint that offers a picturesque view of the surrounding landscape.
During the trip you will see many types of plants, flowers, and trees. You may also see wildlife, including blue morpho butterflies, scarlet macaws, and toucans. You will be able to cool off and swim in the natural pool areas while enjoying the relaxing sounds of the jungle next to the river.
You will eat at the authentic Costa Rican restaurant named Rancho Shadday, featuring the flavor and hospitality of “Doña Martha”. Located near the waterfall property on a ridgeline with stunning eastward jungle views and westward ocean views, this will be a grand addition to the day’s adventure.
Our trips are done in small groups with the company and oversight of an experienced local guide committed to customer service, safety, and unforgettable experiences.
- Hours of operation: we suggest the pick up between 7:00-8:00 am.
- Duration: approximately 5-6+ hours from pick up to drop off.
- Difficulty: medium/hard. There is a good amount of walking (minimum 3 hours) and lots of movement involved. The steps to/from the waterfall lookout are also very steep so this activity is not advised for people who may find this challenging.
- Restrictions: no pregnant women. Children can join the tour under the parent’s acknowledgment of the possible complications of outdoor activities with younger participants. All participants must be ok with hiking, swimming, uneven terrain, and unexpected weather changes.
