Manuel Antonio is one of the most visited parks in Costa Rica. If you’re lucky, you may have the chance to spot howler, white face, and titi monkeys, sloths, raccoons, and frogs all while learning about their diet, habits, and many more facts about the variety of species that live there. Upon arrival at the park, you will meet and enter the facilities with your tour guide. The hike with the guide will last around 2 hours, starting at the entrance of the park at around 8:30 am and ending once you reach the beach at around 10:30 am. After the guided hike is over, the guide will leave you so you can enjoy the beach by yourselves. You must exit the park by yourselves as well, the walk from the beach to the exit will take you around 30 minutes. The driver will be waiting to meet you outside of the park at around 12:00-12:30 pm to take you to lunch. The lunch stop usually lasts around 1 hour. Once you are done with your meal, the driver will start heading back to the hotel.
- Duration: Approximately 7-8 hours from pick-up to drop-off. The guided hike at the park is around 2 hours long.
- Days of operation: Available every day from Wednesday to Monday (the park is always closed on Tuesday).
- Hours of operation: We recommend the pick-up at 7:00 am to meet the guide at around 8:30 am.
- Includes: Private transportation for the day, entrance fees, and a private tour guide at the park. . Food is not included in the price, but a lunch stop is contemplated in the time frame, you can choose where to eat based on your budget and preferences.
- Price: $170 per person for 2 people. $135 per person for groups of 3 or more people. Children under 12 years old, $75 each. Children under 6 years old, free. Also available to purchase without transportation for $65 per person on collective tours of $80 per person on private tours.
Important notes:
- The tickets to enter the park are limited and constantly sold out, so this tour needs to be booked ahead of time.
- All animals are in the wild, this is not a zoo and they are not trained so there is no guarantee of what you will or will not see.
- The park can get hot and very crowded so patience, comfortable clothes and shoes are a must!
- Transportation included in the area of Jaco, Herradura and Playa Hermosa. Transportation from Punta Leona or Villa Caletas can be provided at an extra cost, email us for pricing.
