Poás Volcano & La Paz Waterfall Gardens

Poás Volcano

You’ll be making your way to Poás Volcano National Park* — you may need to put a sweater on, because the higher elevation means it’s about to get cooler. The 2,708 meter (8,885 ft) Poás Volcano is a stratovolcano with a crater that is 320 meters (1,050 feet) deep.

Though you’ll be on the lookout for special park attractions, as your elevation increases, you’re taking the scenic route by default, passing foliage, flowers, farm landscapes, and more.

La Paz Waterfall

In the midst of a luscious jungle, La Paz Waterfall gardens offers you you’ll find monkeys, butterflies, tropical birds, rivers, waterfalls and even dedicated exhibits! Head to the ‘Serpentarium’ or ‘Frog Pond’ to get your reptile and amphibian fix. Step into the ‘Aviary’ where you’ll have no difficulty doing birdwatching. Become entranced by delicate and colourful wings in the ‘Hummingbird Garden’ or the world’s largest ‘Butterfly Observatory.’ Indulge your wild side at the ‘Jungle Cats Exhibit.’ End your day with an amazing adventure discovering the natural world.
